If any one wants to create a mechanical keyboard and use the controller board of the logitech k120 , there are some extra keys on the keymap that are not present on the actual keyboard but was present in the matrix , like the shortcut keys and the volume up and down keys , as well as the power and sleep keys.
Nice! This is a neat service, I think. If you can add it to Deskthority.net, that might be a good archive place? I’ve never tried adding anything there, but I’m also pinning out the controller board of the Cherry Multiboard v2 for a project, and was planning on learning how to contribute for that.
Edit: Could you share a photo of the other side of the controller board?
Hey thanks I will try to add it to Deskthority.net , and keep up with the cherry multiboard V2 project . I will share the other side of the controller board .
Thanks! I was hoping to see a QMK compatible chip (perhaps naively), but no chip at all is a surprise!
the controller is under the blob
Ah, of course. That blob doesn’t come off easily by any chance, does it?
nop it will destroy the controller i am pretty sure
I am not reciving a confirmation mail on Deskthority :( any other forum that i can share on ?
It’s the only wiki-like page I know, but else you can post it on Geekhack.
Have other mass produced co troller boards been mapped like this?
Dont know to be honest i guess others can be mapprd out too , however i chose this keyboard cuz k120 keyboard design is like 20 years old and plenty available in all over the world so it will be easily replicable .
This seems like an interesting approach to building budget boards, and reducing ewaste at the same time.
Hey i was mapping out my broken keyboard :) to try and making a mechanical keyboard. But the pin out makes it hard to design a pcb
