It’s in the bedroom and times of the year are so bright.
Does anyone know of a smart blind of any style that would work up there? [z-wave, Zigbee, WiFi, esphome, anything that’ll talk to home assistant]
We have smartwing blinds using zwave on other windows but they don’t make any for the angles
I’m sorry this is not advice, but what an abomination of a window that is.
No experience with this company, but here’s one of several that make motorized window coverings for trapezoidal windows.
I have used them before and they could definitely make a shade for that window. Be prepared- $$$!!
They are fantastic. But like others are saying, be prepared to spend $5k+ plus labor to install.
Perhaps something with smart window foils that can turn dark under a small charge?
I think you’ll find it’s clear when under charge and opaque while off. https://www.wedoblinds.com.au/products/smartfilm/
You are absolutely right, and I shouldn’t be typing before having my coffee
Shutters? They can be custom made in a variety of impossible configurations. I’ve got Norman wood shutters, but I suspect others can do the same.
No point going with someone else. Norman has like 70% of the market share, and for good reason. Although I only recommend going with wood shutters if you want them stained, or there are weight issues. For standard white shutters, MDF is perfectly fine and will last decades
I’d go a different route and put window film there, maybe tinted or frosted glass
instead maybe just tint with window with UV / heat resistant ceramic film
Not sure on Z-Wave but you can get Lutron for angled windows. $$$$ though.
maybe ikea blinds like these
it’s somewhat “adjustable” and can tilt when one corner hits the bottom first… largest is 48" though.
Or just mount it on the outside of the window/ceiling
Came here to suggest this
Stained glass stick ons?
A motorized shade is possible but very expensive and you would have to run wire because they take 35V and do not come as battery operated. They are also tension so the casette would be at the bottom and you would have cables running up to the top of the window.
Another solution would be fixed shades by Insolroll - but you wouldn’t be able to open and close it; would be fixed.
Personally i would go for the fixed shade option over tinting.
Tint that bitch and be done
I would tint it with 5% window film, or depending on the outside colour off the house, either silver or bronze reflective film
Assuming that is not the only window, you can tint it?
Not much of a view, so I would put up some stained glass, there are many who make custom shape. You can have a custom theme.
I just want to know who did the mudding and taping. They need to be fired.
