A piece about a group of friends who go on a hiking trip in Sweden only to have things go awry.
I rather enjoyed it! Only recently hearing about its existence once I heard the premise I immediately added it to my Trakt watchlist. As a Midsommar fan spooky things happening in Sweden is a favorite horror subgenre.
Agree it’s great. I stumbled onto it and was really excited by

the psychological horror, The Wendigo aspect of the creature, and got super creeped out by the statue in the attic
The only thing that’s strange about the structure of the movie itself, I should say strange and it does not quite fit, are the odd comedy beats which don’t really fit in with the whole movie since they’re so few and far between.
There’s one scene where they’re all on the mountain and he’s pouring out a drink in remembrance, but the pour lasts literally 20 seconds I think. And it’s very funny but completely out of nowhere like there was no buildup to a joke or anything.
Best monster design I’ve seen in decades.
I wasn’t bored till the end or anything but felt it simply wasn’t enough.
It felt like a pilot of a TV show. So many questions it didn’t really sink in for me.
Loved this movie. It meanders a little longer than it needs to but the atmosphere and monster are amazing.
I was spooked. I camp a lot so any horror stuff in the woods always gets me.
